When I first walked into this class, my only experience with photography was in a multimedia class in the middle school. I remember when we first learned about composition in this class and you told us we had to take pictures of all the compositions. I was so excited to take a camera home and be able to take pictures. I think this was my best and worst picture from that composition assignment:
I remember the first time I got to take home a camera for weekly photo assigments. I had no idea what subject I was shooting and I just took photos of whatever I thought looked cool; bad idea. Eventually, though, I learned that you have to know what your shooting to actually be able to get good shots. You have to know all about how fast or slow to put the shutter speed or how open the aperture needs to be. These are my best and worst pictures from all 7 weekly photo assignments:
I remember when we first opened photoshop and you taught us how to do popart. I was so lost and confused and I didn't really know how to do anything. But as we learned mre abut layers and how to clones stamp and crop and create different backgrounds, etc. I learned. Here is my best photoshop and my worst photoshop:
I really liked this class and I feel like I learned a lot about how to photoshop and take pictures. I am very excited to take black box photography nest year and I feel like now that I know all about how to take photos, it will help me tremendously in that class.

For the dictionary assignment, we were supposed to photoshop what the definition of a word would look like. For example, I did the words breathtaking and tranquil. Breathtaking means astonishing or awe-inspiring in quality, so as to take one's breath away. Tranquil means free from disturbance; calm. Here is what I did: In the dictionary assignment, I didn't learn much because it was kind of a self taught thing and i already knew how to do most of the things. For the puns assignment, we were supposed to photoshop what a pun would look like. For example: Hot dog. You might photoshop a dog in fire onto a blank canvas. Here is what I did: In this assignment, I, again, didn't learn much because I already knew how to do these things. I liked this assignment better than the dictionary assignment because it was easier and you kind of got more of a choice of what to do.
For this assignment we had to take a picture of an actual event happening. I went to my brother's graduation ceremony over the weekend and took pictures of him there. Here is my best picture: Here are my next best 5 pictures: What I learned from this assignment is really nothing because I already knew how to shoot photos of people and movement, so I jest set the camera in manual and sped the shutter speed a little bit.
For this assignment, we had to take a studio shot of someone with lights and everything and we had to take a photo not in the studio either inside with a bounce card or outside with natural light. We had to then put them in photoshop with a black background and create a white border around them. Here are my two individual pictures: I learned from this assignment how to create a black background on images and hot to create new layers to make a border around photos.
For this assignment, I had to take a picture of a landscape that I liked. I did so when I went up to my cottage for memorial day weekend and saw the sunset on my boat. I really liked taking pictures of the sunset because I think that sunsets are really pretty. Here is my best photo: No editing done. Here are my next best five photos: I learned from this assignment that sunsets are a very easy thing to shoot because there are no moving things really. Like no birds or waves or things changing drastically in the photo. I really liked this assignment because sunsets are my favorite thing to shoot photos of.
For this assignment, we had to look through some cool photoshop tutorials and try to recreate the look. I did sone where you take a photo, desaturate it, and add color to one thing, one where you take someone and put smoke clouds behind them, one where I made a photo look old, one where you take an object and create an effect where you make an object jump out of a screen, and one where you blend two photos together. Here are my photos:
I learned how to do a lot in this assignment like how to blend photos together, how to make something look like its coming out of a screen, how to make a photo look old, and many other things. The one with the gymnast and the smoke could were kid of hard, but other than that, most of the tutorials were pretty easy.
For this assignment, I had to capture an image of motion. I went to my brothers lacrosse tournament this weekend and so I figured I'd take some action shots of the game. Now in the picture there was originally people in front of him, but I just photoshopped them out. Here is my original photo and edited photo: Aperture: f/8.0 Shutter Speed: 1/2000 ISO: 1600 Here are my next best 5 photo: What I learned from this assignment was that it is pretty hard to capture images of sports games and freezing the whole image while also getting their face or their whole body without having someone else in the picture.
For this assignment, we had to take photos of something just blank, and then we had to take 6 other photos of someone posing in the same place as the last photo. We had to be careful not to move the camera because then the picture would line up. We had to create an effect like there were multiple of the same person in one photo. Here are my 2 photos: From this assignment, I learned how to photoshop more than one thing in a image. I really liked this assignment because it combines taking photos and photoshop. It was also a very easy assignment, so that's nice too.
For this assignment, I was supposed to take a picture of something up close and really get the detail and maybe some texture. I need to blog my best picture, unedited, and then my best picture again, edited. Here is my best photo that is unedited: Here is my best photo again, but edited this time: Aperture: f/8.0 Shutter Speed: 1/400 ISO: 100 Here are my next best 5 photos: What I learned from this assignment is that it is better to take pictures of flowers outside rather than taking them at 6:25 in the morning before school with little light as you can see in the last photo.
For this assignment, we were supposed to take at least three photos of the same place overlapping the last photo a little bit. After that, we had to convert the three or more photos in photoshop to a panoramic photo. I actually really liked this assignment because I got to go outside and take some pictures. Here is my best and second best panoramic photo: Here are my next three: I really liked this assignment. I learned how to create panoramics in photoshop and how to take pictures in order to change them to panoramics. I also learned that I really like shooting photos outside.
